Tundergarth Kirks Iconic Landmarks
A historic community site open to the public for worship services, cultural events, concerts, performances, educational programs and the Pan Am 103 Memorial Remembrance Room
Three miles from Lockerbie’s High Street sits a revered site that contains a 1900 Gothic former Church of Scotland and the ruins of a 1771 Celtic Kirk that look out over the field where the nose cone of Pan Am 103 plummeted to the ground.
The graveyard holds the remains of generations of local families, going back to Roman and Viking times, who lie at rest alongside several of the terrorist bombing victims.
The Memorial Remembrance Room honours each of the 270 lives lost and serves as a place to pay tribute and reflection.
Soon this historic place of pilgrimage will be rehabilitated into the Pan Am 103 Lockerbie Historical Museum housing an expanded exhibition to human dignity, courage, sacrifice, and contemplation, with future programs offering area walks and iconic site tours.

1771 Auld Celtic Kirk Ruins
A roofless and ivy-clad church ruin built in 1771; surrounded by headstones going back over 400 years, soon to be rehabilitated into the Pan Am 103 Lockerbie Historical Museum housing an expanded exhibition to human dignity, courage, sacrifice, and contemplation, with future programs offering area walks and iconic site tours.
1900 Gothic Church
Spectacular community venue, designed by James Barbour, perfect for Weddings, Baptisms, including multi-denominational religious worship, community and cultural events, concerts and educational talks.
Pan Am 103 Memorial Remembrance Room
In the cemetery adjacent to the church, stands a small stone building, which is home to the 270 victims’ color portrait gallery of photographs on six banners. Two computers display the expansive Living Memorial digital collection of 270 intimate multimedia profile pages, containing personal photographs and recorded remembrances. Visitors are invited to learn, honor and upload tributes, write messages, and contribute tokens of memory.
